Donohoe Mtn is in BLM just east of Otay Mtns Wilderness.

Meet at the sandlot across from South Bay Rod & Gun Club. (N32.60593° W116.77064°)  It is on Marron Valley Rd about a mile south of Engineer Springs.

We'll air down at the sandlot. We'll take Marron south to Lupe Spring.  At Lupe Spring will leave the gravel and follow a ridge north northwest.  It has some level 1+ to 2.

Then we'll continue north to Sycamore Canyon.  This section has some interesting features.  There is a long steep rocky drop.  It is has been called "Mocogo Slide", "Mocogo Waterfall", and "The Steep". It drops about 250 feet in 900 horizontal feet.  (About 28 degrees at the steepest point I've measured.)  It can be done with a stock Wrangler but it is rather exciting.  It is probably too much for early beginners.

Then there is the Mocogo Ranch house ruin.  After that there is a little rock garden that runs about 400 feet.  In a stock JK Rubicon you'll probably scrape bottom a bit.  With 3.5” lift and 34” you can probably clear everything.

We'll continue northwest and then turn east on an unnamed trail. That climbs for about a mile and is about level 1+.

There is a junction at N32.63823° W116.78687°.  I plan to turn southeast.  There is a ridge then another interesting descent. That descent was a bit less challenging than the slide on the last run.

This gets us to Donohoe Spur Rd. Depending on the time we can take Ridge Road south again to come out an Lupe Spring or take Otay TT west to come out at Otay Lakes Rd. (There is what appears to be a more direct exit to the east but there is a gate there that is usually locked.)
